A future Walmart Supercenter site under development on West Wetmore Road and North First Avenue has been bought by the company.
Walmart bought the site from local developer Larsen Baker for $17 million.
Walmart has bought its existing store on West Wetmore Road and North First Avenue which is being expanded into a Super Walmart.Β
The existing Walmart store at Tucson Place Shopping Center is being expanded from the current 84,600 square feet to 160,000 square feet.
Larsen Baker will continue to own and manage the adjacent 140,000-square-foot shopping center.
Construction is underway, with an announcement of an opening date pending.
