The Tucson area will be under a flash flood watch beginning this Sunday afternoon, the weather service says.

The National Weather Service in Tucson said the flash flooding could occur in the Tucson area from about 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. as a storm moves across the area. The watch is from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in portions of western Pima County, including Ajo.

There's an 84% chance of rain in Tucson on Sunday, dropping to about 50% on Monday.

Pockets of heavy rain can lead to localized flooding, the weather service said.

Sunday's high temperature in Tucson is expected to be 91 degrees.
