As Wikipedia marks its 25th anniversary, its founder says artificial intelligence companies that rely on the site’s content should contribute more to its upkeep. The milestone comes as the free online encyclopaedia faces rising demand from AI tools, placing growing strain on the volunteer-run platform that has become one of the world’s most widely used sources of information.
