Epstein files: Starmer under pressure over Mandelson-Epstein ties

Pressure is mounting on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer as the government prepares to release documents revealing that officials were aware of Peter Mandelson’s links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein when he was appointed UK ambassador to the United States. Mandelson stepped down from the role last September after the full extent of his relationship with Epstein emerged, and has since resigned from the House of Lords and been expelled from the Labour Party this week. He is now also facing the prospect of a police investigation over allegations that he disclosed sensitive information while serving as trade secretary in 2008.
