30 years of tears and one big party

Aaron Gordon, shown reacting to a call in the Wildcats' season-ending loss to Wisconsin in 2013-14, is on track for career earnings of $102 million by age 26.

By agreeing to a four-year contract worth $84 million, Aaron Gordon will become the highest-paid ex-Arizona player in the NBA.

And he's still only 22.

That means Gordon will be 26 when he's next available on the market, since there are reportedly no options structured into this deal. So he could have prime leverage at that point to command a max deal if he continues to improve.

Gordon already is coming off the best year of his four-year NBA career, since leaving Arizona in 2014 as the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA Draft. HeΒ

He averaged 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while also appearing in the newly released movieΒ "Uncle Drew."

While Gordon's 2018-19 salary has not yet been made available, his average of $21 million over the deal suggests he will likely surpass the $16 million that Andre Iguodala will receive from the Warriors next season.

As of now, these are the other top salaries for next season among ex-Wildcats in the NBA, according to Hoopshype:

-- Solomon Hill ($12.7 million)

-- Jerryd Bayless ($8.6 million)

-- Deandre Ayton (expectedΒ around $8 million)

-- Lauri Markkanen ($4.5 million)

-- Stanley Johnson ($3.9 million)

-- (Channing Frye's four-year, $32 million contract ended last season and he's now a free agent)

A few ICYMI items:

-- Josh Pastner has retiredΒ his well-worn Russell Athletic polo.

-- WSU and Cal may be spending too much.

-- And the Wildcats have new practice jerseys:
