The No. 1-ranked Washington softball team earned a walk-off win against visiting Arizona for the second straight day, winning 4-3 in eight innings Saturday in Seattle.
Taylor McQuillin (16-3) took the loss in relief for No. 9 UA. She entered in the sixth inning with a 3-2 lead but allowed a homer to Emma Helm in the sixth and then a game-ending RBI double to Taryn Atlee in the eighth.
UA starter Alyssa Denham allowed two runs in five innings.
Arizona got all its runs on a Jessie Harper three-run homer in the top of the sixth. She leads the Wildcats with 11 homers and 34 RBIs on the season.
Malia Martinez and Aleah Craighton both had two hits for the Wildcats (24-5, 3-2 Pac-12).
Alvelo, Taran (15-1) earned the win in relief with two scoreless innings for the Huskies (31-2, 3-2).
The teams wrap up the three-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday in a game that will air on Pac-12 Arizona. UA’s next home game will be at 6 p.m. Thursday against California.
