Tom Royston, holding bell, was honored for his kindness to others.

What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”

Last week’s recipient: Tom Royston.

Nominated by: Pete Reisinger.

Why: Royston works at the Bashas’ supermarket in the Ventana Village shopping center, and he always goes above and beyond when helping those in need, Reisinger wrote in his nomination letter. Royston has been known to deliver groceries to customers who cannot make it into the store. He has helped fellow employees with home repairs and yard work during his vacation. “His kindness toward others is truly a pleasure to witness,” Reisinger wrote. “He is wonderful to know as he brings out the best in those around him.”
