- Czarina’s Kitchen: The grand opening of the commercial-grade kitchen at the new home of Sister Jose’s Women’s Center raised nearly $200,000 for the nine-year-old nonprofit, which is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless women. An $85,000 matching grant was provided by Humberto and Czarina Lopez, Jim and Vicki Click, and Rusty and Mary Garrett. It is anticipated that the fully-equipped kitchen will allow the center to prepare more than 30,000 meals a year for homeless women in need of a safe and stable environment.
- Long Realty Cares Foundation: The foundation presented a $1,500 check to the South Tucson Lions Club to cover part of the cost of a portable auto refractor vision screening device. The South Tucson Lions vision screened 23,000 local children this year for vision, and with this donation from Long Realty Cares will be able to purchase another screening device and screen 30,000 children this coming school year. Long Realty Cares Foundation is supported with the donations from their employees and encourages the employees who seek donations to volunteer directly with the non-profits that they support.
- Summit Hut: Since 2009, Summit Hut has donated more than $13,000 to local organizations with the help of customers who decline a shopping bag. The decline-a-bag program has kept more than 258,000 bags out of landfills. This year, the Arizona Conservation Corporation and the Friends of Redington Pass will be the recipients of the next donation.
- Bank of Tucson: The bank awarded $1,000 to Step Up to Justice. The funds received will help Step Up to Justice connect volunteer attorneys with low-income individuals and families in need in Pima County.
