- ACDelco: General Motor’s automotive parts brand sponsored a day of service on May 11, partnering with mechanics and charitable organizations to perform free vehicle repairs for people in need. Sierra Vista repair center Arizona Auto and Radiator Repair provided $5,000 in free repairs to Southern Arizona residents.
- Long Realty Cares Foundation: The organization donated a total of $15,000 in April to El Grupo Youth Cycling, Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, Integrative Touch for Kids, Peach’s Pantry, South Tucson Lions Charities and YWCA of Southern Arizona. The Foundation is funded by Long Realty agents and employees who choose to donate portions of their commissions or paychecks.
- Pet Cemetery of Tucson and Perpetual Pets Crematory: The two organizations donated nearly $11,000 in free cremation services to animals in the care of rescue groups. A dedicated area of The Pet Cemetery of Tucson called The Garden of Devotion is the final resting place for the rescued animals.
- United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona: United Way is providing free books to 1,700 kindergarten through second-graders in an effort to keep reading skills sharp over summer break. The program, My Summer Library, is part of Read On Tucson, a grade-level reading campaign that emphasizes three key pillars of success: school readiness, mitigation of summer learning loss and attendance. Each year the children participate, they get to choose 12 free books to take home. The books are paid for by local donations and grant funds. One of the key goals of the program is to help children read at grade level by the third grade.
- Rotary Club of Tucson: In celebration of the 2017 Rotary Day of Service, 35 volunteers including the club’s high school rotary chapter and University of Arizona rotary chapter spent time at the Triangle Y YMCA Ranch in Oracle painting, landscaping, cleaning and donating more than 15 new picnic tables.
- Lazydays RV: The Lazydays Employee Foundation raised more than $100,000 at its seventh annual golf tournament to support at-risk youth in the Tampa Bay, Tucson, Denver and northern Colorado communities. The proceeds will fund programs designed to empower local children with education and opportunity.
