Ever wonder what it’s like to spend 30 years in a garage band?
You still have time to catch Tucsonan Tim Gassen’s film, “All You Need is Fuzz: 30 Years in a Garage Band,” which is part of the 27th Arizona International Film Festival’s finale at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at The Screening Room, 127 E. Congress St. Gassen will attend the screening.
Festival organizers call The Marshmallow Overcoat a truly independent band that survived decades of changing trends, commercial resistance and each other. The Tucson band enjoyed international tours, global TV exposure, college radio hits and more than 30 records released in the United States and Europe.
“’All You Need is Fuzz’ gives a nostalgic insider’s glimpse into how a no-budget rock band rehearses, makes records, climbs into a van to take their show on the road — and then survives to tell the story.”
