Got writer’s block? Need advice on getting into the industry? Tucson author Laura Markowitz is ready to help.

Markowitz is the Pima County Public Library’s spring writer in residence now through April 30.

The writers in residence program is free and open to writers of any age, experience or genre who are seeking advice, feedback, pointers and tips on writing and publishing.

Markowitz is a National Magazine Award-winning writer, author, editor, multimedia producer and contributing producer for Arizona Public Media, according to a news release.

She is co-author of the forthcoming β€œFacing the White Shadow: A Self-Help Book for White People,” coauthor of β€œVoices On The Economy: How Open-Minded Exploration of Rival Perspectives Can Spark New Solutions to Our Urgent Economic Problems,” co-editor of β€œThe Art of Psychotherapy” and β€œThe Evolving Therapist,” and author of the young adult novel β€œBook of the Sky God.”

Markowitz is offering eight 30-minute one-on-one sessions weekly at Flowing Wells Library, 1730 W. Wetmore Road, and Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library, 7800 N. Schisler Dr.

Sessions at Wheeler Taft are Wednesdays, 3 to 5:30 p.m., through April 24. Registration opens one week prior to each session. Call 520-594-5200 or register in person.
