A 33-year-old Sierra Vista man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to staffers at Cochise College.
Charles B. Wise was arrested Friday without incident and digital media related to the investigation was found during a search of his residence, the Sierra Vista Police Department said in a news release.
Wise was arrested on suspicion of engaging in an act of terrorism, aggravated assault, interfering with an institution, and using an electronic device to threaten or intimidate. He also was arrested for a prior warrant for criminal damage, the release said.
Wise was booked into the Cochise County jail and was awaiting his initial appearance, the release said.
The incident occurred Wednesday when an email threatening several staff members was was sent to the college. It identified two specific staffers, the release said.
The school implemented extra security measures and no one was injured.
