- V.I.P. Mortgage: Tucson-based loan officer Resa Kaiser has been named the 2016 Affiliate of the Year Award winner by the Tucson Womenβs Council of Realtors. An active member since 2013, Kaiserβs immediate contributions to the membership committee helped to increase member numbers by nearly 87 percent. She has served as treasurer since 2015, which is a two-year term, and as a member of the sponsorship committee, raised $10,000 in 2015 alone.
- Tucson CREW: The business networking organization dedicating to advancing the success of women in commercial real estate has recognized several people with 2016 CREW Awards. Melissa Lal of Larsen Baker LLC received the Economic Impact Award; Susan Scholl Smith, sustaining member, was honored with the Career Advancement for Women Award; Sandra Barton of Alliance Bank of Arizona was given the Member-to-Member Business Award, as was Jeannie Nguyen of National Bank of Arizona; Chris Young of the Young Law Firm received the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award; Lani Baker of Holualoa Cos. was given the New Member Award; Sara Baker of Baker, Peterson, Baker & Associates received the Chapter Service Award; and Sandra Rutherford, sustaining member, was honored with the Presidentβs Award.
- Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation:
- The foundation has been awarded a grant for $5,000 from the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in partnership with Macyβs.
The grant will be used for SAAFβs HIV Youth Peer Education program, designed to support youth ages 13 to 24 in increasing their life skills and self-efficacy.
Youth engage in interactive discussions, debates, and facilitated lessons through which they gain knowledge about HIV/ AIDS and sexually transmitted infections. SAAFβs mission is to cultivate a healthy and stigma-free society through transformative action.
