Alliance promotes Misztal

The Sky Island Alliance board has promoted Louise Misztal to executive director, from her previous title of conservation director.

She holds a B.A. in ecology and evolutionary biology, a B.S. in microbiology and an M.S. in geographic information systems, all from the University of Arizona.

She is vice chair of the Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative and a member of the Community Water Coalition Advisory Committee, the Art and Environment Network Executive Committee and the Wildlife Conservation Society Climate Change Adaptation Fund Advisory Committee.

Howell returns to Habitat Tucson

Habitat for Humanity Tucson has named Joseph Howell as director of philanthropy.

Howell returns to Habitat Tucson having worked for three years with the organization before moving to the University of Arizona to be director of development for LGBTQ initiatives. He also has worked as development coordinator at Arizona Youth Partnership. He is board president of the GLBT Tucson Chamber of Commerce.

Howell is a graduate of Northern Arizona University, where he studied hospitality administration and management.

Museum has new executive director

Lisa Hastreiter-Lamb will be promoted to executive director of the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures after the retirement on June 30 of founding executive director Nina Daldrup.

Hastreiter-Lamb has been the museum’s director of education and associate director since 2009. She holds a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an MFA from the University of Arizona, concentrating in painting.

Mobile Meals elevates McKinney

Tamara McKinney is the new executive director of Mobile Meals of Tucson, following Priscilla Altuna, who has retired after 11 years.

McKinney has spent more than a dozen years working with non-profit organizations in Southern Arizona to address social issues including homelessness, literacy and hunger. She previously worked as Mobile Meals of Tucson’s director of development and communications.

Thomas joins River Road Pet Clinic

River Road Pet Clinic announces the hiring of Dr. Lauren Thomas. Her practice serves dogs, cats, rabbits and pocket pets.

She has been certified in veterinary acupuncture since 2008 and will introduce multiple acupuncture techniques to assist pets with pain management, severe arthritis, wound healing and post-surgical rehabilitation, the clinic said in a news release.
