Howard N. Stewart, president and CEO of AGM Container Controls, takes over as chair of the board of directors of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona for 2016-2017, succeeding Daisy Jenkins of Daisy Jenkins & Associates LLC.

Edmund Marquez, the owner of Edmund Marquez Allstate Agencies, is joining the board and is the 2016-2017 campaign chair.

Ten other local executives also are joining the United Way board:

  • Collette Brown, regional community development manager, Freeport McMoRan;
  • Robert S. Campbell, senior partner, New York Life;
  • Kathy Carlisle, site operations manager, IBM Tucson;
  • Tom Dickson, CEO, Banner University Medical Center;
  • Linda Drake, chief pathfinder and founder, Trailblazer Advisors;
  • Neal Eckel, attorney, Durazzo, Eckel & Hawkins PC;
  • Darryl Hawkins, senior leader, Comcast Cable;
  • Lee D. Lambert, chancellor, Pima Community College;
  • Jill Malick, vice president and business banking manager, Wells Fargo;
  • Catherine D. Merrill, deputy project manager, Steward Observatory, University of Arizona.

Stewart has been on the United Way board since 2014. He was the United Way campaign chair in 2014-2015.
