- Cox Communications: Cox, along with the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Azteca America Tucson Television and AZ Bilingual newspaper, is recognizing two Southern Arizona Latina entrepreneurs for their leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Edith Villalobos-Zamora and Candace Flores Carrillo will be featured in 30-second spots produced by Cox Media in English and Spanish that will run on air on Cox and Azteca America Tucson in August. In addition, they will also be profiled in AZ Bilingual by the Chamber. Villalobos-Zamora is the owner of EmV Design Build, which specializes in residential and commercial interior renovations and additions throughout the Foothills of Tucson. She also works with builders on new construction and commercial projects. Flores Carrillo, of El Charro CafΓ© and Catering Co., owns the Stillwell House & Garden, a wedding and event venue in downtown Tucson. βEdith and Candace are fine examples of local business leaders that are thriving and making our economy strong,β said Lisa Lovallo, market vice president of Cox Communications Southern Arizona.
- Tucson Water: Tucson Water has been selected as a βUtility of the Future Today,β a joint recognition program that recognizes forward-thinking, innovative utilities. The honor is presented by the Water Environment Federation. Tucson Water was honored for continuing practices outlined in its 2020 Strategic Plan. Developed in 2015, the plan addressed the risks, needed investments and opportunities likely to arise within its five-year horizon. Three areas of the plan contributed to WEFβs recognition of Tucson Water as a utility that is embracing innovative ways to better serve its community: community partnership and engagement, energy generation recovery and watershed stewardship.
- UA Campus Health Service: The Princeton Review named the University of Arizona Campus Heath Service the second best health service in the nation out of 382 colleges and universities. The rankings are based on data collected from 137,000 students across the 382 institutions. The health service boasts over 70,000 visits a year and a range of services including medical and walk-in clinics, counseling and psych services, health promotion, womenβs health, pharmacy, travel and immunization services, physical therapy and a clinical lab.
