The racks are full, the shoes are shined and clerks are ready to greet shoppers as Macy’s opens its discount brand, Macy’s Backstage, at the Tucson Mall this weekend.
The store within the existing department store carries apparel, cosmetics, jewelry and houseware brands not typically available at Macy’s.
It is the department store chain’s first store-within-a-store concept in Arizona and occupies more than 12,000 square feet.
Merchandise will change frequently and is 20 to 80 percent less than department store prices.
The store, at 4500 N. Oracle Road, opens Saturday at 9 a.m.
