- The Stone Canyon Community Foundation and the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation: The two groups teamed up to equip all Amphitheater School District certified classroom teachers with Garmin vΓvofit 3 activity trackers. The organizations split the $25,000 cost. The trackers will support the districtβs wellness campaign, helping teachers to better engage in personal health and wellness, said Superintendent Todd Jaeger. βWhen we are healthy, we are able to focus on providing an outstanding learning experience for our students,β Jaeger said.
- Military Orders of the World Wars: The MOWW Catalina Mountains chapter presented the Tucson Airport Authority with a $6,000 check for the airportβs military lounge.
The lounge, open to current and former military members and their dependents, is intended to be a respite area while waiting for flights or pick-up. It is equipped with chairs, sofas, TV, movies, charging stations for electronics, a microwave, coffee pots, a refrigerator and snacks. It also has access to the airportβs free Wi-Fi.
