  • The Stone Canyon Community Foundation and the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation: The two groups teamed up to equip all Amphitheater School District certified classroom teachers with Garmin vΓvofit 3 activity trackers. The organizations split the $25,000 cost. The trackers will support the district’s wellness campaign, helping teachers to better engage in personal health and wellness, said Superintendent Todd Jaeger. β€œWhen we are healthy, we are able to focus on providing an outstanding learning experience for our students,” Jaeger said.
  • Military Orders of the World Wars: The MOWW Catalina Mountains chapter presented the Tucson Airport Authority with a $6,000 check for the airport’s military lounge.

The lounge, open to current and former military members and their dependents, is intended to be a respite area while waiting for flights or pick-up. It is equipped with chairs, sofas, TV, movies, charging stations for electronics, a microwave, coffee pots, a refrigerator and snacks. It also has access to the airport’s free Wi-Fi.
