Tucson Electric Power donated more than $150,000 to the Educational Enrichment Foundation’s classroom grant program to support science, technology, engineering and math projects in TUSD.

  • Tucson Electric Power: Tucson Electric Power will contribute more than $150,000 to the Educational Enrichment Foundation over the next three years to fund science, technology, engineering and math projects in Tucson’s largest school district. The contribution will allow EEF to award TEP Power Up Classroom Grants of up to $1,000 to fund at least 50 projects annually that expand STEM education opportunities for Tucson Unified School District students. The awards will increase the reach of EEF’s classroom grants, which have supported teacher-proposed projects for more than two decades. With TEP’s funding, EEF will make $70,000 available in Classroom Grants for the 2019-20 school year. EEF will begin accepting applications for classroom grants from TUSD educators in February 2019. A panel of EEF community volunteers review the applications and select the recipients. The grants will be awarded in Spring 2019 for use in the 2019-2020 school year.
