Larry Lucero and Carla Keegan have been named Greater Tucson Leadership’s 2018 Man and Woman of the Year.
The honor recognizes community members who have distinguished themselves for active support of community projects, demonstrated excellence in leadership and who are a source of positive influence and inspiration for others.
Lucero is the senior director of government and external affairs for Tucson Electric Power. Lucero serves on the governing boards of multiple civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Arizona-Mexico Commission, the United Way of Southern Arizona and the State Board of Education.
Keegan is the co-founder and director of taxation for Keegan, Linscott & Kenon. She is the 2018 general chair of Angel Charity for Children and serves as treasurer for the board of directors for DM50. She has also previously served on the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s board.
In addition to the Man and Woman of the Year honors, Greater Tucson Leadership recognized Nancy Kinerk with the 2018 Founders Award — a lifetime achievement recognition for someone with significant long-term community involvement and accomplishments. Kinerk is a retired teacher, co-founder of Kino Learning Center, and charter member of Angel Charity for Children.
Also honored was Suzanne McFarlin, a certified personal coach and strategy consultant, with the 2018 GTL Alumni Excellence Award. McFarlin is a 2005 graduate and former executive director of Greater Tucson Leadership.
The honorees were selected by a committee comprised of community leaders representing business, government, nonprofit and higher education.
Founded in 1980, Greater Tucson Leadership is a nonprofit, nonpartisan leadership organization dedicated to providing leadership education, community development and civic engagement for the overall care of and commitment to the Tucson community.
