Larry H. Miller day
of service

More than 100 employees of Larry H. Miller dealerships across Arizona volunteered in their communities on April 26 during the Larry H. Miller Day of Service, an annual event that honors the company’s founder, the late Larry H. Miller, on his birthday.

In the Tucson area, employees from Larry H. Miller Volkswagen cleaned and repaired used books for Reading Seed and Literacy Connects, others from Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep built bookshelves at Make Way for Books, and employees from Larry H. Miller Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Dodge Ram volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, working to build a home for a local family.

Cox Conserves
Heroes nominations

Cox Communications, in partnership with The Trust for Public Land, is seeking nominations through Friday for Arizona’s fifth annual Cox Conserves Heroes awards program.

A total of $20,000 will be donated to local environmental nonprofits on behalf of the winner and finalists.

Nominations are being accepted through 5 p.m. Friday at cox7.com/cox-conserves for volunteers in Phoenix and Southern Arizona who are creating, preserving or enhancing outdoor spaces.

A judging panel will select three finalists who will then compete to be named Arizona’s 2016 Cox Conserves Hero. The winner, chosen through an online public vote June 20 through July 20, will receive $10,000 to donate to his or her selected nonprofit beneficiary. The two finalists each will receive $5,000 for their nonprofits of choice.

The winner will be announced in August.

Arizona’s Cox Conserves Heroes program is sponsored locally by Bruce Munro: Sonoran Light at Desert Botanical Garden, an art show offered every night through May 8.
