Lindy’s on 4th, known for its big burgers, is expanding to the east side into larger space that will give owners the ability to start catering.
The 5,159-square-foot building at 8995 E. Tanque Verde Road was bought by Lindy’s for $935,000. It formerly housed The Great American Steakburger.
Jeramy Price, of Volk Co., represented the seller, Nickle Properties LLC.
Lindy’s owners Shannon and Tim Cronin are in the process of sprucing up the new space with their familiar red deco.
Shannon Cronin said the menu will be the same as Lindy’s on 4th, 500 N. Fourth Ave. The original shop at 431 N. Fourth Ave. is still open, called Old Spot and features soups and salads. It has been open for 12 years; the move to the larger Fourth Avenue site was last year.
The expansion to the east side was unexpected, Shannon said.
“A girlfriend of mine has lived out there for 40 years and told me, ‘There’s a restaurant out here for sale’ but I said, ‘I’m too busy,’” Shannon said.
But she decided to take a look and put in an offer.
“They picked us because they are family owned and we are family owned,” she said. “This building, because it’s so large, has opened an opportunity for me.”
The catering service, Lindy’s On Wheels, will also utilize the bigger space for prep work.
“I wasn’t ready for it, but sometimes life is an adventure,” Shannon said. “I feel like the Lord dropped it in my lap because I wasn’t looking.”
She hopes to be open in the new location by the end of March.

- Manufacturing Machining Services LLC leased 11,218 square feet in Clairemont Plaza, 1668 S. Research Loop, from Clairemont Partners LLC. Rob Glaser and Max Fisher, with Picor, handled the transaction.
- Mac-Gray services Inc. leased 6,265 square feet of industrial space at 1331 E. 21st St. Tim Healy and Bob DeLaney, with CBRE, represented the tenant. Steve Cohen, with Picor, represented the landlord, The 1331 Partnership.
- The Center for Autism and Related Disorders leased 3,510 square feet in El Dorado Square, 1200 N. El Dorado Place, from El Dorado Ventures LLC. Tom Nieman, with Picor, represented the landlord, and Michelle Buckner, with TOLD Partners, represented the tenant.
- Blanca’s Party Rentals leased 2,565 square feet at 740 E. 46th St. from RRL Inc. Max Fisher, with Picor, handled the lease.
- Monsoon Vapors LLC leased 1,400 square feet at 5671 E. Speedway. Jeramy Price, of Volk Co., represented the tenant, and Romano Real Estate Corp. represented the landlord, Tucson Speedway Square LLC.
- Plant Parenthood LLC, a hydroponic shop, leased 1,050 square feet at 4237 W. Ina Road from Sun Creek LLC. Robert J. Nolan, of Oxford Realty Advisors, handled the transaction.
