  • The Tucson mayor received the Small Business Advocate Award from the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Partner America program. Among the mayor’s accomplishments, cited by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, were creating the city’s Office of Economic Initiatives, compiling city business incentives into one place and adding to them, focusing on the Five T’s — technology, trade, transportation, tourism and teaching — and working to establish Tucson as a hub for international trade.
  • DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy P.C.: Shareholder Attorney James M. Susa is being awarded the Arizona Society of CPAs Life Membership. Receiving his CPA certificate in 1997, Susa has been supportive of the ASCPA and the CPA profession for almost 20 years. His law practice is focused on the representation of clients in state and local taxation matters in Arizona and Nevada. Susa has more than 25 years of experience in litigating tax matters.
  • Pima County: Saving Birds Thru Habitat presented the Board of Supervisors with its Award of Exceptional Merit for maintaining a thriving bird population in the metro Tucson area. The group cited the County’s ongoing effort to preserve large swaths of native vegetation under the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan — the County’s plan for balancing the conservation and protection of cultural and natural resource heritage with efforts to maintain an economically vigorous and fiscally responsible community.
  • Casino Del Sol/PY Steakhouse: The casino resort and restaurant have been given a Four-Star hotel and restaurant rating by Forbes Travel Guide. Both Casino Del Sol and PY Steakhouse will be showcased with all the Star Rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com. Star Rating recipients demonstrate a strong culture of service.
