  • Casino Del Sol: For the second consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report included Casino Del Sol on its Best Hotels in Arizona list. The casino resort was also named one of the Best Hotels in Tucson during the publication’s annual evaluation of hotels with the best reputation among guests and experts alike. The 2017 Best Hotels rankings evaluate more than 3,000 luxury properties across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
  • Tucson Metro Chamber: Earned four awards at the 2017 annual conference of the Western Association of Chamber Executives. Executive Vice President Lori Banzhaf was recognized as the Gerald Hathaway Staff Person of the Year for her achievements in business development and for creating the Intern-to-Career workforce development program. The Chamber’s Intern-to-Career program was also recognized for its originality and impact on improving the availability of qualified local employees. The Chamber’s new video called The Good Stuff won first place in its communications award category. President & CEO Mike Varney was selected as the CEO of the Year.
  • Ronstadt Ins.: Karrie Reaney and Shara Gerhart were recognized as two of the top performing health insurance agents and brokers in the country by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The HealthCare.gov Champions Circle recognizes the hard work of agents and brokers who improve access to health insurance in the community during open enrollment.
  • University of Arizona College of Nursing: The college is one of only 28 schools of nursing nationwide to receive a grant to increase the number of nurses holding PhDs. Through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholars program, two UA nursing students who commit to earn their PhD in three accelerated years will be provided financial support, mentoring and leadership development.
  • Interior Expressions: The Oro Valley company won Best of Customer Service on Houzz, a platform for home remodeling and design, for the second year in a row. The company was chosen by the more than 40 million monthly unique users that comprise the Houzz community from among more than one million active homebuilding, remodeling and design industry professionals.
