Vistoso Automotive is selling merchandise with 100 percent of the profits going to a charitable organization.

Vistoso Automotive: Pima County charitable organizations will have an opportunity to be awarded funds generated from the sale of merchandise by the auto repair shop. Vistoso Automotive, owned by OOROO based in Oro Valley, is selling shirts, hats, mugs and water bottles, with 100 percent of the profits going to a winning charity at the end of 2017. Charitable 501(c)(3) organizations can apply for funding at vistosoautomotive.com/community now through Feb. 24. The merchandise is available in the lobby of the shop, at 12945 N. Oracle Road.

Splendido: Residents of the adult community donated more than 100 bags and boxes of clothing for homeless and at-risk veterans earlier this month. The donations included menโ€™s and womenโ€™s shoes, belts, new socks and underwear, pants, shirts and outerwear. The collection was organized by the Splendido Veterans Committee in coordination with American Legion Oro Valley Post No. 132.

American Red Cross Southern Arizona: The local chapter and community volunteers are installing hundreds of free smoke alarms in the Flowing Wells Neighborhood. Volunteers are also sharing fire safety tips and helping residents map fire escape routes from their homes. The effort is scheduled for Saturday and Monday. The American Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign was launched in 2014 to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent over the next five years.
