- Long Realty: A donation of $8,500 was made to the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus in honor of realtor Kelly J. Bequette who died Nov. 5 following a motorcycle accident. The donation was made possible by a grant from the Long Realty Cares Foundation and a collection by agents at the Foothills office. A vice president of the Long Realty Cares Foundation board, Bequette was active in many local charities and was a long-time supporter and past board member of the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus. Bequette began his real estate career in 2005 after retiring from the Air Force Reserve as a senior master sergeant. Except for one year with another company, his entire career was with Long Realty. The 58-year-old earned his brokerβs license in 2008 and was serving as an associate broker with the Foothills office at the time of his death.
- Bank of America: Awarded a $10,000 grant to Emerge! for shelter and housing programs. The nonprofit is dedicated to stopping the cycle of domestic abuse by providing a safe environment and resources for victims and survivors of all types of abuse. βAddressing the basic needs gap between having to choose where to sleep or how to pay bills serves the greater community,β said Adriana Kong Romero, Tucson market president for Bank of America. βThat is why the bank views support of nonprofits like Emerge! as a critical steppingstone on the pathway to economic stability by helping people move out of poverty or emergency living situations toward better financial futures.β
- BeachFleischman, CPA: The public accounting firmβs employees gave a $5,000 donation to the Sunnyside High School DECA Club, which supports future business leaders, entrepreneurs, accountants, and marketing leaders.
