Emily Macaluso, who worked two years as a lead teacher for Southwest Key in Tucson, started to write poetry as a way to share the heartbreaking stories she heard and to process what she calls the “collapse and subsequent rebuilding” of her faith. Here are some of her poems, with her preferred formating, about the children she met and their experiences.
