So, you want to take the kids out to eat at a place they'll love.

But, the thought of another fast-food chicken nugget is killing you.

We found 11 Tucson restaurants that have great kids menus. And while some might have nuggets, you can let them enjoy those while you eat delicious grownup food and maybe sip a glass of wine.  

Zinburger - Wine & Burger Bar

What: Upscale burger joint serving angus beef, turkey, ahi and portabello burgers, to name a few. 

Where: There are two locations in Tucson — 6390 E. Grant Road and 1865 E. River Road

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Choose from hamburger, sloppy joe, grilled cheese or chicken strips. Plus the meal comes with a soft drink and a choice of hand cut fries, sweet potato fries or ranch salad.

Price: $5

You could eat this while your kid munches on a child size burger, sloppy joe or chicken strips. 

El Charro Cafe

What: Upscale Mexican cuisine.

Where: 311 N. Court Ave., 7725 N. Oracle Rd., 6910 E. Sunrise Dr.

Menu: For kids under 10. Choose from tacos, bean and cheese burrito, cheese quesadilla, nachos or gluten free chicken nuggets. Meals come with a soft drink, lemonade or milk, rice, refried or whole beans and all-natural apple sauce. 

Cost: Starting at $5.95

Extra: If you have kids age 2 and under, you can request a free side of rice, beans or tortilla. 

El Charro Cafe, 311 N. Court Ave., is on the list of more than 50 “generational” Mexican restaurants that reflect Tucson culture.

Pita Jungle

What: Pita Jungle serves healthy Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Greek and Lebanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Where: There are two to choose from — 5340 E. Broadway and 7090 N. Oracle Road

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Menu is divided into four categories — fruits, grains and carbs, vegetables and protein — and the kids can choose one from each. Grain choices include brown rice, garlic potatoes, pita bread, mac and cheese, pasta with marinara or pita crisp. Protein choices are turkey, chicken, hummus, lentils or tofu. Veggie choices are cucumber slices, steamed broccoli, spinach or steamed carrots. Fruit is a choice of whatever is in season. Comes with a kid's size drink.

Little Anthony's Diner

What: Retro diner offering old-school America fare. (Bonus: You get to draw on the tables)

Where: 7010 E. Broadway

Menu: For ages 12 and under. Choices include chicken nuggets, grilled cheese strips, PB&J, burger, hot dog, corn dog, Pasgetti & Meatballs and macaroni and cheese. All but the Pasgetti & Meatballs come with chips or fries. All meals include a soft drink, milk or juice.

Price: $4.99 - $5.29

Beyond Bread

What: Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Beyond Bread offers hand-crafted breads, sandwiches, house-made soups, fresh salads and pastries. Everything is made from scratch in house.

Where: There are three to choose from — 3026 N. Campbell Ave., 6260 E. Speedway and 421 W. Ina Road.

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Choose from PB&J, grilled cheese or classic mac and cheese with garlic bread. 

Price: $2.99 - $3.95

Grilled cheese in all its gooey glory is a fixture on the menu at Tucson's sandwich chain Beyond Bread, where you choose between sharp cheddar, Swiss or provolone for $5.25 with choice of side. The kid's version costs $2.99.

Blanco Tequila and Tacos

What: Mexican cuisine

Where: La Encantada, 2905 E. Skyline Drive

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Choose from cheese quesadilla, grilled chicken tacos, bean and cheese burrito or a cheeseburger. Entree includes fries and a drink.

Price: $7

Blanco Tacos + Tequila is located at La Encantada on the northwest corner of North Campbell Avenue and East Skyline Drive. 

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

What: Upscale American restaurant and steakhouse

Where: La Encantada, 2985 E. Skyline Drive

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Each entree comes with choice of two sides, Oreo cookie packet and a beverage. Entree choices are mahi tacos, filet medallions, shrimp tacos, smoked chicken wings, burger with cheese, grilled chicken breast, wood grilled mahi, half rack of ribs, mac & cheese and chicken fingers with honey mustard.

Price: $6.25 - $8.95

Mama Louisa's

What: Italian American cuisine

Where: 2041 S. Craycroft Road

Menu: Choose from shells with house sauce, butter, alfredo or cheese sauce, cheese ravioli with house sauce, spaghetti and meatball, breaded chicken strips and fries or pizza bread. Meal includes a fountain drink or regular (or chocolate) milk and ice cream.

Price: $6

Joe’s Special is homemade linguine topped with cheese, hot pepper seeds, fresh chopped garlic and a signature sauce.

Silver Saddle Steakhouse

What: Steak, ribs, chicken, burgers

Where: 310 E. Benson Highway

Menu: The kid's menu is divided in two sections. One has more grown up choices like prime rib, top sirloin steak, BBQ pork ribs, chicken deep fried shrimp or steak and shrimp. These choices come with steak fries and choice of soup of the day or salad bar. 

The second half is more typical kid food. Choices are a burger, chicken strips, grilled ham and cheese or grilled cheese served with ranch fries, soup or salad bar, beans, bread and butter. They can also opt for the salad bar or a soup as their meal.

Price: The first half of the menu is priced from $6.95 to $9.95. The second part is $3.95 to $5.95.

Risky Business

What: Family restaurant and sports bar.

Where: There are two locations to choose from: 8848 E. Tanque Verde Road and 6866 E. Sunrise Drive

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Choose from corn dog, spaghetti with marinara, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, nachos, fried shrimp, burger, chicken nuggets or cheese pizza. Kids can choose a side, which can be fries, fruit, mashed potatoes, baked potato, rice or veggies.

Cost: $4.50 - $4.95

Sullivan's Eatery & Creamery

What: Family restaurant

Where: 6444 N. Oracle Road

Menu: For kids ages 12 and under. Choose from burgers, grilled hotdog, grilled cheese or chicken nuggets. Each meal comes with shoe string fries or mini carrots and a kid's scoop of ice cream.

Cost: $3.75 - $4.15 (kids over 12 add $1.75 per meal)
