Raising Cane’s is hosting a grand opening party Friday morning that includes appearances by University of Arizona cheerleaders, UA mascot Wilbur the Wildcat, music from the Sahuaro High School marching band and enough give-aways to encourage you to call in sick.

But you have to get up pretty early to get the best prize of all: A year of free food.

Raising Cane’s, the Louisiana-based chicken fingers and fries chain, is giving the first person in line a year of free eats.

The opening-day fun starts at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and continues through to 10 a.m., when the restaurant will open its doors at 6352 E. Broadway, on the corner of South Wilmot Road. Proceeds from Friday will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson.

Raising Cane’s, which has several Phoenix area locations, serves deep-fried crispy chicken fingers in baskets, bunches and on sandwiches. It will be open daily from 9 a.m. to midnight.
