Lin's Grand Buffet, the southside's new mecca of all things Asian cuisine, opened Thursday.

At noon Friday, the line at the pay counter was a dozen deep and the dining room was flowing with customers eager to sample handmade sushi rolls, steam tables with platters of lo mein, orange chicken and crispy fried crab puffs oozing cream cheese.

The 12,800-square-foot restaurant at 1068 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd. — off Interstate 10 and South Park Avenue near Walmart and Costco — is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The cost is $9.79 for lunch, $11.99 for dinner with discounts for children 10 and younger. Details: 623-8891.
