It's been four months since I discovered Yuma has the best burritos of all time. And since then, I've been furiously trying to prove myself wrong.
There has got to be some place in Tucson with a better burrito than The Chile Pepper or Mr. G's restaurant in Yuma, Arizona. But I have yet to encounter a better use of $1.89 than this chubby little bean burrito with a smidge of melty cheese and a perfect puffy tortilla. (I even went back, and it was just as good!)
Meanwhile, the Star's social media editor Irene McKisson made the journey with her husband Mike, and had the same impression.
From his Instagram:
"Probably the best burritos I've ever had. Worth a stop if you are in Yuma."
And her Instagram:
"I forgot to take a picture of the best bean and cheese burrito ever so here's my empty wrapper."
I'm gearing up for a burrito deep dive later in the summer, so I need your help ... Are these really the best burritos ever, or do any Tucson restaurants do it better? Tell me what your favorites are in the comments section ...
In case you need a refresh, here's the "investigation" I did back in January. Now where do I need to go next???
