Sir Veza's Taco Garage is coming to Tucson Mall.

And in a year or so, it will be serving its Nitro Nachos and BBQ Carnitas Sliders to travelers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Sir Veza's was awarded one of the concession contracts at the airport, which is undergoing a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of its restaurants in Terminal 4.

"We're really excited about the opportunities," said Ray Flores, president of Sir Veza's parent company, El Charro CafΓ©.

Flores, who conceived Sir Veza's in late 2009, said the Phoenix restaurant won't open for about a year.

But he hopes to have his second Sir Veza's open by Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving in November - in the former Marie Callender's restaurant at Tucson Mall.

Marie Callender's closed both of its Tucson restaurants early this year as part of its bankruptcy filing.

Flores said he is undergoing a "pretty ambitious" redesign of that restaurant that will include a wrap-around porch.

Sir Veza's 2 will include an expanded craft beer lineup and the restaurant's signature specialty drinks, along with a complete menu of speedway-themed dishes from wings to tacos and sandwiches.
