School is out and the bands are on the road.

Here are five shows to help you kick off your summer.

  • Pride of hometown: Tucson’s own Calexico plays a hometown show with opener Julia Jacklin at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St. It’s a rare chance to see the boys on a local stage. Tickets are $25 to $36 through ticketfly.com
  • A punk-rock shredfest: The all-girl Ramones-punk-revivalists Peach Kelli Pop share the Club Congress stage with Phoenix jangle-pop fave Nanami Ozone at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31. And get this: Admission is free. Club Congress is at 311 E. Congress St.; hotelcongress.com
  • Hardcore and acronyms: Hard rockers D.O.A. join American hardcore outfit MDC for a headbangers ball at 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, at 191 Toole, 191 E. Toole Ave. The two bands have been around since the late 1970s, which means they crash it old-school. This is a Rialto Theatre show; tickets are $17 in advance through ticketfly.com or $21 day of show.
  • Rockin’ the hometown: The Rialto Theatre also is where you’ll see a host of local rockers — Sacred Groove, Mr Wiley, Push, Tribulance, Exit Dream, Pyrotechnica and Creating The Scene — when Local Love Presents hosts Metal Fest XIII. The all-ages show begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2, and tickets are $5 at the door or through ticketfly.com
  • Latin pop from around the globe: The Agentinian pop and rock band Los Enanitos Verdes and popular Spanish pop band Hombres G kick off the summertime lineup at the AVA at Casino del Sol, 5655 W. Valencia Road, at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7. Both bands have long histories — Los Enanitos Verdes (“Little Green Men”) goes back to 1979, while Hombres G traces its roots to 1992. Tickets are $35 to $85 through tickets.casinodelsol.com
