Itโ€™s a busy weekend for classical music in Tucson as three groups open their 2017-18 seasons.

Arizona Friends of Chamber Music: Now Music

Featuring violinist Benjamin Beilman and pianist Anna Polonsky.

  • The music: A little Beethoven (Violin Sonata No. 1 in D) paired with a bit by Brahms (Violin Sonata No. 3 in D) would be reason enough to see this concert. Add in Saint-Saëns; Violin Sonata No. 1 in D minor and the piano-violin duet of Kaija Anneli Saariaho’s “Tocar” and you have a recital that lives up to Arizona Friends’ new name for its Piano and Friends series.
  • When and where: 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Leo Rich Theater, 260 S. Church Ave.
  • Tickets: $30 adults, $10 students at the door or in advance at arizonachambermusic.org
