The Arizona Board of Regents did not meet Monday and is not expected to convene Tuesday, as questions swirl about basketball coach Sean Miller's future at the UA.

The Regents convened an emergency executive session on Saturday, one day after an ESPN report connected Miller to the FBI's ongoing pay-for-play scandal. Board chair Bill Ridenour said then that the board was "committed to meeting in the next several days as new information becomes available and to receive additional legal advice.”

However, no emergency or pre-planned meetings have taken place since then, ABOR spokeswoman Sarah Harper said. The board must give 24 hours' notice for a scheduled meeting, but need not do so for an emergency meeting.

Ridenour issued a lengthy statement Saturday, saying that while the ESPN report — and its fallout — was an emotionally charged issue, "it is essential that we move forward decisively and based on facts."

Miller remains away from the team; associate head coach Lorenzo Romar ran Monday's practice. Miller's radio show, scheduled for Monday night, was canceled.

The board wouldn't necessarily need to meet again regarding Miller — UA president Robert C. Robbins has the final choice on personnel matters  — but the university and board are typically in lock-step when it comes to hirings, firings and votes of confidence among athletic department personnel. A checks-and-balances system ensures it; Robbins and athletic director Dave Heeke recommended hiring football coach Kevin Sumlin in January and agreed to include certain contract provisions set forth by the board; ABOR then approved Sumlin's hiring and the terms of his deal.

Tuesday's update comes as 247Sports.com reported that Miller met with UA officials Monday, and may be close to learning his fate.
