Could Washington standout guard Markelle Fultz be the best player on the worst team in Pac-12 history?

Yes. Or at least he’s on track to be just that.

According to research by Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News, only four of the 57 Top 10 NBA picks from the Pac-8/10/12 played for teams with losing records -- Stanford’s Rich Kelley, ASU’s Ike Diogu, Washington’s Spencer Hawes, and now Fultz, who is projected to be one of the top few picks in June.

Fultz’ Huskies (now 2-11) have the worst record of the four teams. Diogu went No. 9 in 2005, one spot below UA’s Channing Frye, after playing for a 7-11 Sun Devils team.
