Blowing the Shofar for the new year

The "Northwest Fun in the Sun Day" Sunday, Sept. 25 will celebrate the Jewish community in northwest Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley and beyond.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Canada del Oro Riverfront Park, 551 W. Lambert Lane, the Tucson Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona's Northwest Division will connect attendees with Jewish organizations in the area.

The free park day includes music, bounce houses, sports and crafts and Zumba- and Israeli-style dance parties, according to press materials.

Rabbi Ephraim Zimmerman of Chabad of Oro Valley will do a shorfar-blowing demonstration.
