An Independence Day parade in Vail will begin at Christ Vail Lutheran Church, 14600 E. Colossal Cave Road, followed by a flyover.

Organizers are calling it Vail's first Fourth of July parade. The parade begins at 9 a.m. Monday, July 4 at the church and concludes at Hacienda del Lago, 14155 E. VΓ­a Rancho Del Lago. Between 11:45 and 11:50, two F-16s will fly over the church.

The parade is a collaboration of the church, the Vail Preservation Society, the Vail Area Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations, said Ed Wagner with the Federation of Southern Arizona Veterans, a participant in the parade.
