Saint Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church, 4625 East River Road, sent 13 individuals to Peru on Friday, June 3 to help at El Refugio de Esperanza, a school, rehabilitation facility and vocation training center for young people with disabilities, according to press materials.

The church’s pastor Jim Wiltbank will lead the team in helping school staff maintain the facility and work with children during the nine-day trip. This is Wiltbank’s seventh visit to the center.
