Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute

Pielstick hasn’t seen a lot of collaboration between the various Buddhist groups in town, though he and others are making efforts to change that.

The Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute, 3400 E. Speedway, will host its regular movie night and potluck 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 with a showing of "Tibet: A Buddhist Trilogy."

The films topics range from the Dalai Lama to monasteries to dealing with death, according to press materials.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a dish to share and a donation.
