Training to help identify signs of mental illness, substance abuse

Interfaith Community Services and Saint Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church, 4625 E. River Road, will put on an eight-hour training to help attendees better identify mental health disorders and substance abuse in teenagers.

The free training 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 will also connect families and young people to community resources.

Participants must bring their own lunch and register for the event by Tuesday, Sept. 20.
