Bishop Jose Leopoldo Gonzalez of the Diocese of Nogales celebrated mass in Douglas, Arizona together with Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas of Tucson, who was on the other side of the border in Agua Prieta, Sonora.

For the second time this year, Bishop Gerald Kicanas of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson will concelebrate Mass on the U.S.-Mexico border with Bishop José Leopoldo González González of the new Diocese of Nogales in Mexico.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 near the Naco Port of Entry, the bishops will temporarily trade countries, celebrating Mass on their neighbor's side of the border, according to press materials.

The final Mass will take place on Sunday, Oct. 23.
