Home Churches for Christ holds Bible study training

The organization Home Churches for Christ will hold training for Christians interested in hosting a Bible study in their homes, said Pastor Alma Jones, a longtime member at Casas Church.

The trainings at the Murphy-Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Road, are 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 13 and March 12.

Ascension Lutheran holds seminar on coping with grief

Ascension Lutheran Church, 1220 W. Magee Road, is hosting a GriefShare seminar.

The 13-week program has already started, but is taking newcomers from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays.

The session includes a video, discussion and prayer to provide support for individuals experiencing loss, according to press materials.

The sessions run through the end of March. The workbook costs $15.

Movie night set for Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute

The Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute, 3400 E. Speedway, will host a showing of the film β€œLittle Buddha” at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22.

The potluck event is free, but the institute requests donations to help cover the cost of rent.

Casino night fundraiser

for Anshei Israel school

Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E. Fifth St., will host an adults-only fundraiser for its preschool and kindergarten at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23.

Casino games, appetizers and sweets, a cash bar and live music are part of the evening. Raffle prizes include a Canyon Ranch spa retreat, an autographed University of Arizona basketball and more. The $65 admission per person includes two drink tickets and $25 in casino chips, according to press materials. Cocktail attire is appropriate.
