Marana's newest pizza outpost has gourmet as its middle name — Boston's The Gourmet Pizza.
It's affiliated with the Canadian Boston Pizza chain, which has two locations in the Phoenix area. The Marana franchisees are Marnie Fredericks and Marlene Egeland.
Boston's is a sports bar, sit-down restaurant and pizza parlor situated in spacious digs near Tower Theatres off Interstate 10 and Cortaro Road.
You can order a slab of barbecue ribs or an oven-roasted salmon while sipping a signature Ultimate Appletini as the game plays on one of several HD flat-screens situated throughout the 128-seat dining room. You can also watch the game from the patio, which can seat 60.
The pizza menu features socalled masterpieces (hand-pinched spicy sausage and a house Pomodoro sauce are stars in one, while chopped spinach and roasted garlic are central to the Chicken Da Vinci) alongside standard offerings that cast pepperoni, veggies and bacon double-cheeseburger in lead roles.
Boston's is at 5825 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive. It's open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
