The home of C. W. Kaufman and family was photographed for the Tucson Citizen home section in 1963. The family especially likes the desert and the outdoors, so the home reflects that desire.

Floor of the patio around the swimming pool was built around a palm tree and saguaro. The swimming pool area is bright with color from flowers, umbrellas and Mexican notes.

Outdoor front patio of the Kaufman home seems almost a part of the interior in this view from the skylighted and screened sunroom of the home. Furniture is in a charcoal colored wrought iron with cushions of gray, turquoise and beige. Bricked in planters around the gravel area in front provide a colorful background. The Rincon Mountains are seen in the distance.

Mr. Kaufman serves as chef for a hamburger broil around the pool. The Whitaker pool is 18 by 36 feet with a depth of three to seven feet. Shape is known as Special Eldorado with offset steps. Constructed of steel-reinforced gunite it has a deck of red brick. Safety-grip bullnose coping is utilized.
