After his confession, Lubo was held for the grand jury.

From the Arizona Daily Star, Sunday, February 25, 1912:

LIMON SLAYER HELD FOR THE GRAND JURY

Lubo Made No Denial of Killing Man Who Had Stolen His Children; Wife in Court; Bonds $5000.

The preliminary trial of Guadalupe Lubo charged with the murder of Manuel Limon in Elder Creek took place before Justice Dufton yesterday afternoon. The proceedings were brief, only one witness being examined, James Chambers to whom Lubo admitted the killing soon after it occurred.

The wife of Lubo was in court. The defendant had made no secret of the fact that he was the slayer of Limon and immediately afterward he set out for Tucson to give himself up. He made a statement after his arrival that he had killed Limon not because the latter had broken up his home and induced his wife to leave him but because they had taken his children. He was held to the grand jury in the sum of $5,000.
