Three blue tiled steps lead down to the master bedroom of the Richard H. Eggleston home in Deer Run Estates. Only the spaciousness of the room permits use of such a striking floor as the blue and white tile design, In the lower right corner you can just see part of the Calvin Wilhelm table which Mrs. Eggleston topped with red, blue, white and grey tiles.

Interest in the living room focuses on this east wall hung with three paintings by American artist Waldo Pierce—the picture of Dick Eggleston as a baby, his father "at 40," and the Parisian supper scene.

Mrs. Eggleston frequently changes the displays in her coffee table-exhibit case. Designed taller than usual, it serves as a dining table for casual meals. The west wall was paneled shortly after this picture was taken and now makes a more effective backdrop for the massive painting by Vermeer.

The enclosed front porch has become a favorite dining and relaxing spot. Front half is screened.

The hallway leading to the bedroom wing is lined with gay posters announcing bullfights. At far right you can see the wrought iron divider separating the dining and living rooms.
