Sierra Vista police arrested a suspect in multiple armed robberies after several weeks of investigation, authorities said.

Brian Powers,22, was arrested on Jan. 9 for two separate armed robbery incidents that occurred in December. He was previously convicted in 2014 for armed robbery in Cochise County Superior Court.

On Dec.18, officers responded to armed robbery reports at a Subway restaurant on 329 West Fry Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they were unable to find the suspect who fled the scene and took $230 from the establishment, a department news release said.

Reports of an armed robbery at a Little Caesars Pizza on 55 South Highway 92 occurred at 10:49 p.m. on Dec.23. When officers arrived they were unable to locate the suspect who fled on foot. No items were taken from the scene.

Powers has been taken to the Cochise County Jail and charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of kidnapping. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
