Sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded to an early morning house fire near the intersection of La Caรฑada and Chapala drives. A man's body was found inside.ย

An early Saturday morning domestic violence call turned deadly after a 26-year-old man barricaded himself in his northwest Tucson home.

Foothills District sheriffโ€™s deputies were able to get family members of John Karamargin out of the home after responding to the 1400 block of West Chapala Drive around 3:30 a.m. However, after trying to make contact with Karamargin, an explosion inside the home started a fire, according to a release from the Pima County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

The Mountain Vista Fire Department extinguished the fire, and shortly thereafter Karamarginโ€™s body was found by deputies inside the home.

The sheriffโ€™s office homicide unit has taken over the investigation, according to the release.

Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a sheriffโ€™s spokeswoman, said the fire was kept to inside of the home, where damage was extensive.
