An early Saturday morning domestic violence call turned deadly after a 26-year-old man barricaded himself in his northwest Tucson home.
Foothills District sheriffโs deputies were able to get family members of John Karamargin out of the home after responding to the 1400 block of West Chapala Drive around 3:30 a.m. However, after trying to make contact with Karamargin, an explosion inside the home started a fire, according to a release from the Pima County Sheriffโs Office.
The Mountain Vista Fire Department extinguished the fire, and shortly thereafter Karamarginโs body was found by deputies inside the home.
The sheriffโs office homicide unit has taken over the investigation, according to the release.
Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a sheriffโs spokeswoman, said the fire was kept to inside of the home, where damage was extensive.
