The number of animals at Pima Animal Care Center has reached its highest point this year and the center needs help to make room for incoming dogs.

Currently, 438 dogs and 225 cats are at the site. They range from puppies and kittens to adult dogs and cats.

PACC is celebrating the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend by waiving all adoption fees for dogs and cats four months and older through Sept. 17. You can take advantage of the deal at the center, 4000 N. Silverbell Rd.

Pets are also available at select PetSmart locations:

  • 4374 N. Oracle Rd
  • Β 3695 E. Broadway Blvd.
  • 1175 W. Irvington Rd.

A $19 licensing fee will apply to dogs, a PACC press release said.

PACC is open Monday through Friday from noon-7 p.m. and 10 p.m.-5 p.m. on weekends. In most cases, the pets will go home with you the same day.

All pets come spayed or neutered, properly vaccinated, microchipped and with a free visit to the vet.

β€œOur summer intake spike came later than usual this year,” PACC Director Kristen Auerbach said in the news release. β€œThe volume of animals is tough for us, but means a great selection of puppies, dogs, cats and kittens for our fosters and adopters."
